“She can sing the tattoos right off your arm,” proclaims Living Blues Magazine!
Quickly becoming considered one of the premier fingerstyle blues guitarists today – male or female – Erin Harpe has earned a reputation as a captivating performer and passionate purveyor of the vintage country blues and roots music she was brought up on. (She is often compared to Memphis Minnie, JoAnn Kelley, Rory Block, or Bonnie Raitt.) Her “Country Blues Duo” features Erin and husband and longtime musical partner, bassist Jim Countryman. The charismatic couple’s shows often inspire spontaneous dancing, the two putting out a formidable sound (both doing double duty – Erin on vocals, acoustic guitars, foot percussion and kazoo, complimented by Jim’s ukelele bass and vocals.) Their new album, MEET ME IN THE MIDDLE, which was recorded in the couple’s home studio in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts during the pandemic lockdown, has received rave reviews and was named “2021 Album of the Year” by the New England Music Awards!
